Sib Ö (Sibú) is the main divinity in the mythology of the first settlers of Mesoamerica, since he was the creator of the land and of man, the creator of wisdom, values and indigenous customs.

It is called Sibú by the Bribris and Cabécares, Sibö by the Teribes, and Zipoh by the Borucas.

Sibú also brought the seeds (ditsù) from below where the sun is born, and planted them in Suràyum, where they sprouted as Bribris. He brought the white men like stone dust, he punishes those who steal the harvest of the seed, those who commit incest (kurù) through illness or death.

He taught the Bribris and Cabécares what products they could eat, how to sow and what plants to grow; he structured the rules of his society as clans and morals; and he gave the Awápa the songs, the ritual language and the magic stones or siah.

It is a Costa Rican group, experimental genre (mix Latin American rhythms such as Tambito, Bolero, Ska, Bossa Nova, Songo, among others, with social themes), which started as a folk music group, which over time included diverse Latin American rhythms and themes in our songs.

Founded in December 2010, at the initiative of Alonso Murillo Valverde, originally as a folkloric group called "Los de pueblo".

Its Musical Director is Joaquín "Kaska" Sancho and its Administrative Director is Luis Alonso Chinchilla Jiménez.

At the beginning, "Los de pueblo" was conceived as a group of Costa Rican folk music; but with the passing of time and concern of "Kaska" Sancho and the complicity of the rest of its members, the group began to incorporate different Latin rhythms and give a shade of social awareness to their themes, giving rise to Son Sib Ö (Sibú ).
