The Project "Rescue and Cultural Education", was an effort for the conservation and teaching of the three main traditions of our Canton and nearby areas, such as: the Masquerade, Cimarrona and danza, was carried out in 2010 in the seven districts of the canton of Aserrí: Central, Salitrillos, Tarbaca, Vuelta de Jorco, Monterrey, La Legua, San Gabriel, as well as the neighborhoods: Poás and Las Mercedes (both of the Central district).

It was so well received by the communities, that after assessing the needs of the areas near our canton, it was decided to carry out a second stage in 2011, in the cantons of Acosta, Desamparados (Bustamante, La Fila and La Lucha), Tarrazú, Dota and León Cortés Castro (San Pablo and San Andrés).

This stage differed from the first, since for the first time it included a music and dance show, with the groups: "Los de pueblo" and "Bewora Guay" (currently "Son Sib Ö" and "Bailongueando" respectively). Both stages were beneficiaries of the PROARTES Program of the Melico Salazar Popular Theater and the Ministry of Culture and Youth.

We share some photographs of the events:
